Material aspects determined by the team

The material aspects covered in the report were identified by the responsible cross-departmental and cross-company team. This team includes employees in key positions who deal actively with the issue of sustainability and are in dialogue with various stakeholder groups.

Assessment based on ESG criteria and their relevance

The focuses of this report were selected on the basis of a review of all ESG criteria and their relevance, as well as of the implementation of concrete company projects and their complementation by further topics that thyssenkrupp Materials Services is working on in the area of sustainability. This included employees involved in the development of our sustainability strategy. These criteria were then discussed with the Executive Board.

In doing so, we took into account the most important future challenges faced by the materials sector, as identified in this dialogue. We additionally considered topics that are of general societal interest and are assessed as relevant on the basis of media coverage.

Alignment of material aspects with our company objectives
