Our contributions to the environment

The fight against climate change and the protection of biodiversity are of central importance to us. That is why we will operate in a climate-neutral manner from 2030 and continuously reduce all forms of environmental pollution.


As an organization, we engage in actions that have an immediate positive impact on climate protection. However, in order to achieve a long-term effect, we do not lose ourselves in actionism. Instead, we use research projects to generate momentum, strengthen partnerships and implement innovative solutions in our business operations.

thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Europe in El Puig climate-neutral from 2023

As part of the steel service center network of thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Europe, the site in El Puig, near Valencia, is systematically taking further steps towards climate neutrality: From as early as 2023 the company will operate on site in a climate-neutral manner. One important element is the installation of a full-coverage photovoltaic system.

With data towards climate neutrality

From 2030 thyssenkrupp Materials Services aims to be climate neutral. To this end we are already setting ourselves ambitious targets: Indirect emissions in our value chain (Scope 3) - particularly from the use of our products - are to be reduced by at least 16% in the next few years. With the Product Carbon Footprint calculator (PCF calculator) we have now developed a way to accurately calculate emissions for every product in the thyssenkrupp Materials Services portfolio.
