Further focus on core business: thyssenkrupp Materials Services sells Spanish company thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Lamincer S.A.U.
thyssenkrupp Materials Services today announced the sale of its subsidiary thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Lamincer S.A.U., located in Mungia, Spain, to ARANIA S.A.U, part of the GRUPO ARANIA. The signing of the purchase agreement and the closing of the transaction have taken place. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the financial details of the transaction.
thyssenkrupp Materials Services had already initiated the focusing of its own portfolio in 2019 as part of the strategic development of "Materials as a Service". The sale of the Spanish company is a further step in this direction, as thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Lamincer as a cold-rolling company is not part of the core business of the materials distribution and service provider. With ARANIA, thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Lamincer gains an owner with more than 80 years of experience in the cold-rolled, high-carbon and low-carbon sector and benefits from the company's growth strategy.
"With the successful sale of thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Lamincer, we have taken a further step in sharpening our profile. We are delighted to have found a buyer in ARANIA who can offer the site promising prospects," says Martin Stillger, CEO of thyssenkrupp Materials Services.
thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Lamincer was founded in 1986 and, after an initial minority stake, has been part of today’s thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Europe, a leading steel and aluminum service center and operating unit of thyssenkrupp Materials Services, since October 2009. Today with 75 employees, the site has capacity for around 40,000 metric tons per year and specializes in carbon cold-rolled strip, structural steel and micro-alloyed materials.
thyssenkrupp Materials Services continues to be active at several locations in Spain with its companies thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Europe, thyssenkrupp Plastic Ibérica, and thyssenkrupp Materials Ibérica.
