thyssenkrupp takes next step towards becoming a multi-material supplier
By integrating the processing specialists for aluminum and nonferrous metals, thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Europe will be able to offer its customers even more choice in the future. The integration is part of the strategic development of the Materials Services business area and for customers will represent a valuable addition to the processing services and distribution activities of the Service Center group.
Tailored aluminum and nonferrous metals from Wörth will add to the diverse range of the company, which already processes almost two million metric tons of stainless and carbon steel per year. The new product portfolio will enable customers to obtain all services from a single source in the future.
“As a multi-material supplier, in addition to carbon flat steels we can now supply tailored aluminum and nonferrous metal products as further materials for the manufacture of high-potential products such as electric cars. And our broad network of sites from Portugal to Hungary means we are close to customers throughout Europe,” says Marcus Wöhl, CEO of thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Europe.
The processing specialists for aluminum and nonferrous metals in Wörth hold a leading position on the European market. They operate six slitting lines and two cut-to-length lines producing up to 45,000 metric tons of slit strip and blanks per year: Slit strip is produced in thicknesses of 0.3 to 5 mm and widths from 330 to 1,600 mm. The cut-to-length lines meet precise customer requirements in thicknesses from 0.5 to 5 mm, widths up to 2,100 mm and lengths up to 10,500 mm.
In addition to aluminum, the product range includes high-quality copper, brass and bronze, enabling the company to offer a broad range of materials for the diverse requirements of customers from the automotive, components and electrical segments and discerning users from the industrial, construction and facade sectors.
