ThyssenKrupp Stahl-Service-Center and ThyssenKrupp Stahlkontor presenting their new service facilities in Krefeld
The focal point at the Rhine port in Krefeld at the end of May 2014 was the new processing equipment. Together with its location neighbor ThyssenKrupp Stahlkontor, ThyssenKrupp Stahl-Service-Center had sent out invitations to this customer event. CEO and head of the Steel Services Operating Unit, Marcus Wöhl welcomed to the Open Day more than 100 business partners and customers.
A special focal point of the event was the new cross-cutter. This enables plates of up to 16 mm thickness to be tailored to customer specifications. Available are dimensions of up to 2,100 mm width and 12 m length. The unit is designed for coils with a maximum diameter of 2,300 mm and weight of up to 36 t. ""In order to survive as a service partner and be able to fulfill growing customer demands, one must invest. Our new cross-cutting unit provides us with additional processing options that will move us ahead,” said Wöhl.
Besides detailed information about the new cross-cutter, Wöhl together with his fellow Management Board members Wilhelm Budéus and Norbert Walberg, CEO of ThyssenKrupp Stahlkontor, provided a detailed overview of the steel services available and how closely the companies work together in Krefeld. It was particularly the varied steel services to customer requirements that characterized the location and its ability to address rising customer demands. In addition, such premium services as inventory management or individual logistic solutions make ThyssenKrupp Stahl-Service-Center an important partner in the customer's value chain. Thanks to the regional network within Germany as well as abroad, short distances are ensured and hence close customer proximity.
