thyssenkrupp receives Supplier Award
Top marks for delivery performance and quality: Longstanding customer Jan van Walraven B.V. has presented thyssenkrupp with its Supplier Award. The narrow strip center in Leverkusen was honored for a perfect year. Thanks to high-quality and reliable deliveries, they went 365 days without a single complaint. thyssenkrupp is also the first winner of the Award, which shows two linked rings held together by a person to underline the outstanding partnership between customer and supplier.
In Leverkusen carbon and stainless steel are processed into individual coils on a total of three slitting lines. There are five oscillating jumbo coilers to wind the material into coils weighing up to 5 metric tons. Thicknesses of 0.3 to 3.0 millimeters and widths of 7.0 to 60.0 millimeters are possible. Customer segments include manufacturers of tube and pipe clamps, welding wire and clamping rings.
The facility also collaborates closely with its Polish sister company. At the narrow strip center in Dabrowa Gornicza specific customer requirements can likewise be met using a slitting line and two jumbo coilers. This makes it possible to provide optimum service to both the western and eastern European markets, while offering customers effective logistics advantages.
thyssenkrupp Materials Processing Europe employs 1,000 people and processes around 2 million tons of flat steel and nonferrous metals into slit strip and blanks every year. The company operates a Europe-wide service center network comprising twelve locations in six countries and supplies customers from the automotive, construction, electrical and furniture industries with high-quality materials and tailored processing services. Ongoing investments ensure advanced, broad-based processing capacities are available at all plants. The company is headquartered in Krefeld.
