ThyssenKrupp Aerospace optimizing customers' inventory management
ThyssenKrupp Aerospace, a company belonging to the Group's Business Area Materials Services, is further expanding its supply chain services. The aerospace experts of the ThyssenKrupp Group have stepped up cooperation with Barloworld, a leading supplier of planning and optimization software. In order to further enhance inventory management and reliable supplies in the interests of its customers, ThyssenKrupp Aerospace is increasingly making use of OPTIMIZA software which it will roll out on a global scale. In addition, further functions are together being developed, depending on customer needs.
OPTIMIZA helps address rising customer expectations by assisting in short- and medium-term requirement forecasts. It also displays supply chain trends, thus allowing inventories to be planned accordingly. Another feature of the software is to link internal systems with customer data and supplier information thus revealing any materials bottlenecks or other short-term problems.
"Our partners operate on a global scale and expect from us sophisticated service standards, a high degree of transparency and commensurate prices,"" says Harald Meyer, CFO of ThyssenKrupp Aerospace, and adds, ""The worldwide use of OPTIMIZA will allow us to further enhance materials availability and on-time deliveries for our customers combined with economically optimum inventories.""
